Award Winning Flamingo Land… Again!
Flamingo Land has just been awarded a David Bellamy Conservation Gold Award for the fifth year running. This recognises Flamingo Land’s outstanding commitment to biodiversity conservation. The work is all underpinned by Flamingo Land’s Biodiversity Action Plan (or Zoo BAP) – the first of it’s kind for a zoo, which is now being promoted as a model for all BIAZA zoos.
This year in particular has seen tremendous effort by Flamingo Land’s gardeners to encourage brightly coloured flowers to help insects, and to encourage the growth of native plants and habitats. This year we also planted a further 2,000 trees, bringing our total to 8,000.
