Flamingo Land Resort wins Yorkshire’s ‘Most Magnificent’ Attraction award 2015
Flamingo Land Resort crowned Yorkshire’s Most Magnificent Attraction for the second year running.
Following an epic battle between 19 different attractions, Yorkshire’s Magnificent Attractions is pleased to announce that for the second year running, Flamingo Land Resort in Malton has been voted to be Yorkshire’s Most Magnificent Attraction 2015.
This summer marks the fourth annual competition to find Yorkshire’s Most Magnificent Attraction, and is voted for by the public. This year has seen a record number of votes reaching over 16,000, with Flamingo Land Resort claiming over 60% of the votes, resulting in a landslide win, beating Yorkshire Wildlife Park (2nd place), Yorkshire Sculpture Park (3rd place) and The Deep (4th place) for top position. The award adds to a spectacular chain of events at Flamingo Land Resort this year following the birth of two Rothschild giraffe calves in March and August, a new baby Red Panda born in June, and their summer Party in the Park season, which this year has welcomed guests including 5ive, Union J and Shayne Ward.
Sarah Mills, Director of Marketing at Flamingo Land Resort comments, “We are absolutely delighted to have been awarded Yorkshire’s Most Magnificent attraction for the second year running, especially when this year there has been a record number of overall votes in this competition. This indicates that our customers are appreciative of the ongoing investment into the park, especially our resort guests who recently benefitted from an extensive refurbishment of the Run-Gym-Swim Leisure Complex and the opening of Riverside Cottages. We thank all those that voted for us.”
Deb Hindley, Director of Yorkshire’s Magnificent Attractions says, “We’re thrilled with the phenomenal response we’ve had from the public during voting. Flamingo Land Resort’s success in coming out on top in the poll for the second time, is testament to its continuing dedication to offering the public one of the best days out in Yorkshire. The top four venues, as voted for by the public during this process, are truly reflective of the range of high class attractions available to people living in or visiting Yorkshire. Many have made significant investments in developments to further improve their offering to visitors, and Yorkshire really can count itself lucky to have such a variety and volume of superb visitor attractions on its doorstep”.
All votes will be entered in to a free prize draw to win a 4-Star overnight stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Leeds.
