Over the years thousands of school children have enjoyed educational days out with our animals and education team and we have been awarded a quality badge to recognise the overall approach we take to our education policy.

Recognising the continued commitment to delivering a day out with a difference The Council for Learning Outside the Classroom (CLOtC) recognised our commitment to deliver a day out with a difference and a quality, educational day out for children to supplement their classroom studies.

"Receiving this award highlights the commitment we show to learning and how we interact with students of all ages to teach them about animal care, conservation, species and our roles here," said Lindsay Taylor, Education Officer at Flamingo Land Resort Yorkshire. "Encompassing the quality of not just learning but also safety, schools and other educational establishments can have complete peace of mind that a visit to our animal collection will be one that the students will benefit from."

Organisations displaying the LOtC Quality Badge is a signal to schools that their venue has met required standards, so teachers do not need to carry out their own risk or quality assessments. And, in addition to the quality educational days out, CLOtC provide free online guidance to support teachers and identify quality providers.

"We have specific packages tailored to suit all aspects of the education system including Early years, Primary, Secondary and Post 16 as well as uniformed groups such as Brownies and Cubs," said Lindsay. "We support the national curriculum in many ways and on many topics, and you can call or email us to discuss which of our activities would complement your classroom topic".
