The Parma wallaby is grey-brown in colour, with white fur covering the chest and throat.
Both males and females have thin forelimbs. However, the males’ are slightly longer, possibly to aid them when holding the female during mating.
The parma wallaby is usually nocturnal, awakening shortly after dusk to forage in groups of 2-3 individuals.
The main threat to these wallabies is predation from foxes, feral cats and dingoes. Human activity also poses a risk to them due to forest clearing, which is worsened by bush fires, resulting in fewer places for the wallabies to shelter in.
Controlling fox populations has been a suggested method for increasing the population numbers of this wallaby.
